Pre-rolls explained

A pre-roll is cannabis already rolled in paper or a hemp wrap. Packs range from a single 1.5 g blunt to a box of several joints. Some are flower only; others are infused with hash, budder, shatter or moon rock for extra strength — the product name usually says so.

What to look for

  • Weight per joint and the number of joints in the pack.
  • Strain type (indica, sativa or hybrid) shown in the name.
  • Infusion: infused pre-rolls are stronger than plain flower.

If you would rather roll your own, see shake and smalls and accessories. You must be of legal age in your province: 19 in most of Canada, 18 in Alberta and 21 in Quebec.

FAQ: Pre-Rolls

How many grams is a pre-roll?
Sizes vary by product. The product page states the weight per joint or the total weight of the pack.
What is an infused pre-roll?
It is a pre-roll with a concentrate such as hash, budder or shatter added, which makes it stronger than a plain flower joint.
How should I store pre-rolls?
In an airtight tube or jar, cool and dark, so they do not dry out or crush.
